Emily Blunt, star of the new movie coming out April 27, the 5-Year Engagement, starring Jason Segel
was spotted at the ELIE SAAB private dinner at the Crown Hotel in New York City. She looked stunning
in a yellow knee length dress and red lipstick. On her ears was a pair of 19-carat gold champagne and
white diamond stud earrings by MEUS Designs. The earrings were studs in the shape of diamonds, worn
elegantly and very visibly with her hair pulled back to display them more prominently. She was seen
throughout the evening with such friends as Dakota Fanning and Analeigh Tipton. The event was held on
April 5th.

The Five Year Engagement will be released in theatres on April 27th. Starring Jason Segel, Emily Blunt,
Kevin Hart and Alison brie, the movie follows a couple during their five year engagement, dealing with
tragedy after hilarious tragedy to extend the engagement much longer than either of them wanted.
Jason Segel co-wrote the movie and was produced by Rodney Rothman as well as Judd Apatow. The
movie was co-written with Nick Stoller who allowed many of the scenes to be made up on the spot,
including the sparring match. This helped add to the fluidity of the movie and some very memorable
scenes. The Thread offered an exclusive screening of the movie to their viewers and a number of
Facebook Fans this week, allowing people to rate the movie and tell everyone else about just how funny
the movie is. Many thought the movie seemed real that they were a loving couple, even though in real
life, both Emily and Jason are with others. Emily Blunt is married to John Krasinski while Jason is dating
Michelle Williams.

MEUS Designs is no stranger to being captured in the spotlight. The designer, Suneera Swarup, indulges
her South Asian values and spirituality through her jewelry, allowing those who wear the designs the
ability to discover inner strength and beauty. As a young artist, she has taken a journey through many
designs as an artist including textile design. As she found her way into jewelry, it is obvious that the
designs have been designed by an artist and not just any jeweler. There are three main collections by
MEUS. “Influences”, “M Sterling” and “Lure” all exhibit recycled metals, selective gemstones and a
significant attention to detail. The collections embody much of the 1920’s Art Deco movement and
encompass a number of designs that range from Egypt and India to Latin America and even Europe.
Eclectic designs and glamour are met within each design, offering something radiant, unique and
completely functional. Everything is handcrafted in a Los Angeles studio and then made available to
many fine jewelry stores from coast to coast in the United States as well as in Puerto Rico and Mexico.
The designs have made their way into the earlobes, on the wrists and around the necks of a number of
celebrities in Hollywood including Ashley Tisdale, Molly Sims, Kate Beckinsale and now Emily Blunt.

Emily Blunt Wears Dazzling Diamond Stud Earrings
Tuesday, April 24th, 2012Titanic 3D Release Boasts the Heart of the Ocean Necklace
Thursday, April 19th, 2012
The 1997 romantic cult classic, Titanic, directed by James Cameron was recently re-released
into theatres in a 3-D version. The diamond necklace that Cal gave to rose, known as the
Heart of the Ocean, was a stunning necklace that was a heart-shaped sapphire, surrounded
by 103 diamonds in a platinum setting. While the movie prop was valued at only $10,000, the
authentic version is estimated to be valued at as much as $4 million. The sapphire itself was
171 carats and weighed about 34 grams. The movie prop and the authentic version was both
designed by jewelers Asprey & Garrard. At the end of the movie, it was dropped into the ocean
by the elderly Rose as she remembered her time with Cal, played by Leonardo diCaprio.

Since the Titanic 3D has been released back into theatres, it has been breaking records all
over the world. Of all the movies that have ever been re-released, Titanic is making the most
impressive numbers in the box office. In the first 12 days, it has grossed over $200 million.
This is on top of what the original release and subsequent DVD sales added up to, which was
over $1.8 billion. Kate Winslet and Leonardo diCaprio starred in the 1997 film and it helped to
jumpstart both of their careers. The theme song to the movie, “My Heart Will Go On” was sung
by Celine Dion and she actually wore the Asprey & Garrard Heart of the Ocean necklace to the
1998 Academy Awards where she performed the same song during the ceremony. With the
release of the movie back to theatres, a number of jewelers have been creating replicas of the
necklace, using everything from a silver setting to cubic zirconia around the sapphire to keep
costs down. However, Asprey & Garrard only created one authentic necklace and it is unknown
as to who it belongs to.

Asprey & Garrard merged in 1998, being originally Garrard & Company and Asprey. Garrard
was commissioned by Queen Victoria in 1843 as the Crown Jewellers for the Royal Family.
They were responsible for making many of the jewels and silverware found in the palace and
they were responsible for up keeping the Crown Jewels. While they are no longer responsible
for the Crown Jewels, they were responsible for making the sapphire engagement ring that
Prince William presented to Catherine Middleton when he proposed. As for the Heart of the
Ocean necklace that they created for the Titanic, it was donated to Sotheby’s for an auction to
benefit the memorial fund of Princess Diana as well as Aid for AIDS. The person who bought
the necklace paid $2.2 million and the name of the person is undisclosed. Asprey & Garrard
have received a lot of notoriety since their inception in London in 1735. They have dealt with
cutting a number of famous diamonds and their clients have including royalty in England, India
and beyond. They continue to create stunning designs that are available in London, New York,
Tokyo, Dubai, Hong Kong and Moscow.
Jennifer Lopez Spares Jessica Sanchez on American Idol Wearing Norman Silverman
Wednesday, April 18th, 2012
American Idol’s Season 11 elimination show going down to 6 contestants was very high energy when all
the judges fought to keep Jessica Sanchez on the show after she had to do her save song. Jennifer Lopez,
one of the judges, sparkled just as much as Sanchez, wearing a coral colored dress that coordinated
beautifully with a diamond bracelet and two stackable rings, all by designer Norman Silverman. The
cost of the jewelry from the designer retails at almost $200,000. The two stackable diamond rings add
up to a little over $55,000 and the 18 karate gold, five row diamond bracelet retails for $110,000. On
Jennifer’s other hand was another diamond ring by designer Cora that is estimated at another $140,000,
displaying just how much star-power Jennifer Lopez has.

Jessica Sanchez landed in the bottom three on the elimination show of American Idol on April 12, where
judges had to decide which contestant was going to leave the show to go from seven down to six.
Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson were obviously shocked when Ryan Seacrest announced
that Sanchez was in the bottom. They forced her to do her save song and used the loophole they had up
their sleeve to save her for another week, at the bare minimum. As she started to sing, Lopez charged
the stage, followed by the other two judges. Lopez pulled the microphone from Sanchez’s hand and
told her to sit down, saying “this is crazy.” She announced that of course they were going to save her
and “you ain’t going home.” After this display, Seacrest reminded the audience that judges can only
use the save until there are five contestants remaining. Jackson made the comment that all the judges
believe she’s one of America’s best singers – ever. As a result of the judges saving Jessica Sanchez, they
must eliminate two finalists next week.

Jennifer Lawrence Chooses Chopard
Thursday, April 12th, 2012
Jennifer Lawrence, the star of Hunger Games, is a fan of designer Chopard. While she’s been seen
around Hollywood and the rest of the world for her premieres wearing various designs, we can’t forget
her platinum and emerald drop earrings that she wore to the 2011 Golden Globe Awards. Her earrings
were by Chopard and there were 23 carats of emeralds to make them. The emeralds were separated on
each of the earrings by a diamond as well as smaller diamonds that formed the hoops at her earlobes.
She also wore a stunning platinum bracelet with 21 carats of diamonds. Since that event, she has been
seen in Chopard again, obviously a fan of the designer.

Actress Jennifer Lawrence has received a lot of hype over the past several years. Her 2010
movie, “Winter’s Bone” earned her a nomination for a Best Actress Oscar, though she wasn’t able to
secure it. The 21-year old actress has recently been in the spotlight because PETA got involved over
a squirrel-skinning scene that was from that same movie. Lawrence admits that it wasn’t faked, even
though she’s probably not supposed to admit it. The actress has most recently gotten a lot of fame
because of the Hunger Games, which has been topping the box office charts since it’s been released.
The movie, which is supposed to be a series, has been compared to the fame that Harry Potter and
Twilight received. Jennifer is excited about the possibility but is trying not to get her hopes up. She’s
already been signed for Catching Fire, which is the second book in the Hunger Games series. It has also
been announced that she will play Raven/Mystique in the next X-Men sequel set to come out in 2014,
though it hasn’t started filming yet.

Chopard jewelry has always been known to take a creative approach to the designs. The designer
started out in 1860 in a village in Somviller. A craftsman by the name of Chopard started a workshop,
creating watches. Because of the styles and the reliability, it grew a solid reputation and soon began to
spread through Eastern Europe, Russia and even Scandinavia. The founder’s son, Paul Louis Chopard,
opened another branch in 1921 and then moved the company to Geneva in 1937 to be closer to the
cosmopolitan clientele. Chopard has grown into a name that is synonymous with creativity. While
the watches feature state of the art technology, the other jewelry in the line is made with the best
diamonds and other semiprecious stones. It’s not uncommon for a Chopard watch to break out of the
standard look of oval or square face an the bracelets, earrings, necklaces and rings are made from white
gold, yellow gold and platinum featuring bright colors, unique designs and much more. The Chopard
designs can be found in Chopard boutiques and other fine jewelry stores around the world. Their
designs have been seen on a number of Hollywood actresses, actors and other prominent celebrities for
many years.
Sofia Vergara Shows Her Sultry Side in Harry Winston Studs
Monday, April 9th, 2012
Sofia Vergara graced the cover of InStyle for April. The actress in ABC’s Modern Family has
allowed her curves, her comic delivery and her thick Latin accent to send her to the top of
Hollywood’s list of highly sought after actresses. On the cover of the magazine this month, she
is in a stunning Narcisco Rodriguez purple dress. In the photo spread in the magazine, she is
dazzling in front of French doors where she dons a white Tom Ford dress and sandals. On her
left wrist is a Harry Winston leather banded watch and on her ears are beautiful dangle earrings
also by designer Harry Winston. Sofia Vergara is a spokesperson for Cover Girl and has made
the claim that she loves jewelry…”rings, earrings, bracelets, necklaces, you name it,” the actress
says.

The Colombian-born actress has a lot going for her right now. She stars in the hit sitcom
Modern Family, she is in the soon to be released Three Stooges and she has just released a line
of clothes, jewelry and home furnishings to be sold exclusively at K-Mart. Perhaps one of the
best things she can add to her resume, however, is hosting Saturday Night Live, which she was
able to do this past Saturday. She made it out on stage in a skintight strapless black leather
dress where she left very little to the imagination. She apologized to the crowd for her accent
and said that if they would forgive her for her accent, she would forgive them for staring at
her chest all night. She then proceeded to show just how sexy she can make even the worst of
words, reciting such words as “Rick Santorum” and “New Jersey” in her thick Latin accent to
come across as very sexy. Sofia Vergara took part in a number of skits throughout the night,
including one where she was a spokesperson on the Hunger Games with Bill Hader and Fred
Armisen as well as one where she played a very convincing Fran Drescher skit with SNL cast
member Abby Elliott.

Hollywood for a number of years. The American luxury brand was created in 1932 when Harry
opened his doors in New York for the first time. He specialized in transforming diamonds into
art and creating a very revolutionary design through many aspects of his jewelry. From the
Hope Diamond to becoming a designer for the stars, Harry Winston jewelry is as good as it
gets for many celebrities. His designs have become an icon for glamour since 1943 when he
was able to decorate Jinnifer Jones in his signature diamonds, who went on to be the Best
Actress winner. From then on, he became known as the Jeweler to the Stars. For over 60 years,
Winston diamonds have been a part of the Hollywood red carpet. The designs have seen some
of the more rare diamond colors as well as the brilliant white ones. Halle Berry wore a Harry
Winston pumpkin diamond in 2002 when she won Best Actress. Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth
Taylor, Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Lopez and countless other celebrities have embraced the designs
when they step onto the red carpet.
Christina Aguilera Makes a Come Back
Thursday, April 5th, 2012
Christina Aguilera’s latest appearance on the Voice had everyone buzzing because it’s obvious she’s
been hitting the gym. To showcase all of her hard work, she wore a skintight tangerine dress that clung
to all of her smaller curves in all the right places. She debuted a new haircut that was a little shorter and a little less eye makeup than usual, too. As she swung around in her stationary swivel chair, it was also easy to see the beautiful dangle earrings that she wore made by designer Loree Rodkin. These earrings
are huge but look beautiful. It starts out with a silver loop, followed by a large black bead and then an
even larger hoop, coming to rest on her shoulders. It made the outfit and helped her to showcase her
new look that much more effectively.

Former Mickey Mouse Club singer and actress Christina Aguilera has been the discussion by many over
the past year when she divorced her husband and began to put on some extra pounds. Many found it
hard to recognize her as the infamous “Beautiful” and “Genie in a Bottle” singer that everyone grew to
love. Each week, she’s on the Voice, a reality show where her and three other singers in the industry,
Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, make singers’ dreams come true by helping to develop
their talents. As she’s been on the Voice, many have commented in message boards about her weight.
Whether she listened or she decided to do it on her own, she’s been working with a personal trainer
to get her shape back – and it’s obvious that it’s been working. She’s also been spotted in Los Angeles
having dinner with boyfriend Matthew Rutler, where she wore another body skimming dress. Her new
look is very subdued compared to some of her in-your-face colors that she had previously worn. This
may be a new turning point for Christina as she gets her body back. Watching the Voice will tell us what
we can expect from her on a regular basis.

Loree Rodkin is a jewelry designer that has recently been asked to make a number of designs for

Taylor Swift Sparkles at the CMAs in Lorraine Schwartz
Monday, April 2nd, 2012The 2012 Academy of Country Music Awards took place this past Sunday. Amongst the country singers dressed to the nines on the red carpet was Taylor Swift. She wore a floor length while J.Mendel gown that had side cutouts and featured metallic insets down the length of the dress. Her hair was worn long with her signature banks. Dangling from her ears and wrapped around her wrist was stunning jewelry by Lorraine Schwartz. Her left wrist featured a clunky geometric bracelet while she had dangle earrings with diamonds dangling from her ears. These complimented her luxurious look and helped her to outshine many of the other country singers on the red carpet, including Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert. The event was hosted by Blake Shelton and Reba McEntire and they each took their turn with different updates about the music industry as well as a few choice jokes about some of the gossip going around. The CMAs are one of the biggest events for country music all year long.

Taylor Swift was named Entertainer of the Year for the second year in a row at the event. The 22 year old star has been in the spotlight for the past several years with songs that have topped the country and pop music charts. This crossover singer beat out Blake Shelton, Brad Paisely, Jason Ladean and Kenny Chesney this year to get the trophy for top entertainer. She also made sure to thank her fans and also praising those in the industry, saying “I respect you so much and I love you.” The 47th annual awards show wasn’t without embarrassment for Swift, however. Blake Shelton made a joke on stage about Tim Tebow and Taylor Swift dating. While the two have been linked romantically in the press after being seen having dinner, neither have made a comment to confirm or deny the rumors. If anyone goes on the surprised face that was on Swift’s face after the announcement, it may be that the rumors are false. She was either very embarrassed that people knew about it or she thought the comments came out of left field.

Lorrain Schwartz has been a jewelry designer for the Hollywood stars and for a number of other well-to-do public figures over the year. This American jeweler is based out of New York City and has followed her family’s footsteps, being in the industry for three generations. Lorraine took over the business in 1989, which was a very small business. She renamed the company Lorraine Schwartz Diamonds & Fine Jewelry. The only way to buy the jewelry is through Bergdorf Goodman in New York City, by appointment with her at her showroom on 5th Avenue in Manhattan or through private commission. Her rise to fame is attributes to Halley Berry wearing the jewelry by the designer on the red carpet in 2002 at the Screen Actors Guide Awards. Since then, a number of actresses have been spotted wearing the diamond-studded designs including Jennifer Lopez, Barbara Streisand, Elizabeth Taylor and Cate Blanchett.
